    Introduction

The Doran property was staked for its copper potential. It is located 160 km north of the Trans-Taiga road, a nearly 600-km-long gravel highway running east-west through the James Bay region. It is 250 km north east of the village of Keyano. The property holds a major structure that correlates with a 25-km copper anomaly in lake-bottom sediments. The main target type is IOCG and intrusion-related copper-gold.

  • Limited exploration work has been completed on the property by Azimut with some prospecting and rock sampling work done searching for uranium occurrences in the region in 2007-2008.

The regional data includes only 16 lake-bottom sediment samples, 3 rock samples and 26 outcrop observations.  The surrounding area is also largely under-explored. However, the regional lake-bottom geochemical survey revealed several samples elevated in Cu, Ag, Au, Zn, U or REE.

A chalcocite showing in a granite outcrop returned >40% Cu and 12 g/t Ag. Abundant hematite veinlets, some silicification, and lesser amounts of disseminated pyrite and pyrrhotite were also observed. A major structure in the showing area correlates with the 25-km copper anomaly in lake-bottom sediments (up to 316 ppm Cu).

  • Doran is situated in the Goudalie-La Grande Domain at the contact between the Minto and La Grande Subprovinces (Archean Superior Province).
